LANCASTER – Thousands took to The BLVD for the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix, which kicked into high gear Saturday. Spectators lined the track, cheering and whistling as professional go-kart racers whizzed by at speeds up to 100 mph. Assemblyman Steve Knight bested local VIPs, including City Council members and Mayor R. Rex Parris, to win the popular Mayor’s Gold Cup race.
As the races raged on, many opted for the daylong street festival instead, which featured numerous children’s activities, local food vendors, music by local bands, entertainment by local performers and a vintage car show that spanned several blocks.
