PALMDALE – Jason Lozano, 20, of Palmdale was struck and killed by a van around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
According to the report, CHP dispatch received a call of a pedestrian walking in the road on Palmdale Blvd. at Longview Road. Officers responded to the scene and observed a male lying on the east shoulder of Palmdale Blvd., east of 130th Street East. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries due to being struck by a 1999 GMC Safari.
The driver of the GMC Safari, Ronald Musgrave, 65, of Palmdale, remained at the scene and provided a statement regarding the collision.
This is the third time in less than three weeks that pedestrians have been struck and killed in the streets of Palmdale. On August 23rd, Zenobia Schurlock, 82, of Lancaster died after being hit by several unknown vehicles around 12:05 a.m. on 50th Street East, south of Avenue M. Then on September 2nd, Cyrus Cisneros, 2, was run down and killed while crossing the street with his grandfather at the intersection of Quito Way and Apolena Way in Palmdale.
