LANCASTER – On Tuesday, August 30, 2011, The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case-Homicide Unit assisted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office arrested Robert Lawrence Wilson in Lancaster for the 1990 strangulation murder of Tammy Lynn Bounds.
Tammy Bounds was eighteen years old at the time of her murder and was seven months pregnant with her second child. She was last seen alive on June 21, 1990, at her apartment on Aldine Mail Route Road in Houston.
Later the same day, Bounds’ body was found by a survey crew in a wooded area along Claude Penny Road near SH Hwy 105 in the eastern part of Montgomery County.
Approximately one hour before Bounds’ body was found her 14 month old child was found wandering alone on a residential street approximately 5 miles away.
A lengthy investigation was conducted by detectives in 1990 but the case went cold. Robert Lawrence Wilson came to the attention of investigators in 1990 after learning that Wilson had once resided at the same apartment complex as Bounds.
In 2006, Cold Case Detectives Tom Duroy and Terrence Greenwood reopened the murder investigation and Wilson was recently linked to the murder with DNA testing.
Robert Lawrence Wilson remains jailed in California awaiting extradition to Texas.
Anyone who believes they may have information about this case should contact Cold Case Detectives at 936-760-5876 or through the Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at 800-392-(STOP) 7867.

This is horrific! It goes to show that all things catch up with you in the end. Texas will deal with him real good!
