LANCASTER – Three men were arrested in Lancaster Saturday, hours after they allegedly robbed a Marijuana Dispensary at gunpoint in West Hollywood.
Officials say around 8 p.m. Saturday, Derrick Devon Jones, Willie David Johnson, and Terrence Terrill Brown burst into the Farmacy-Medical Marijuana Dispensary, held the employees at gunpoint, and robbed the business of money and marijuana before taking off to Lancaster. The trio was captured at a house in Lancaster within hours of the crime, according to a sheriff’s report. The following press report from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department details the incident:
On the evening of Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 8:03 p.m., three male Black adults entered the Farmacy-Medical Marijuana Dispensary, located on the 7000 block of Santa Monica Blvd, West Hollywood, and closed the front door of the business.
One suspect held six employees at gunpoint while two other suspects secured the victims’ hands, took them to the rear of the business and ordered them to lie on the ground; the store manager was ordered to open the safe.
The suspects stole money, several glass containers containing marijuana, and cellular telephones belonging to the victims. The suspects left the location in an unknown direction. None of the victims were injured.
Further investigation by West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station deputies revealed the suspects traveled to the Lancaster area, where they were located at a residence by Lancaster Sheriff’s Station deputies, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victims were transported to Lancaster, where the three suspects were identified.
West Hollywood sheriff’s detectives responded and served a search warrant, recovering property belonging to the victims as well as the weapon used in the crime.
Derrick Devon Jones, 30, was arrested for Robbery and Kidnapping and is being held without bail for a parole violation; Willie David Johnson, 35, was arrested for Robbery and Kidnapping, and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail; and Terrence Terrill Brown, 29, was arrested for Robbery and Kidnapping, and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
The WeHo News reports that Sheriff’s detectives used GPS from the victims’ cell phones to track the suspects’ movements to Lancaster.
All three suspects were booked at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station Saturday. The investigation is continuing.
