PALMDALE – The Palmdale Playhouse will present two vibrant and enchanting dance presentations entitled “The Snow Queen” and “The Joy of Christmas” on Friday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2 pm at the Playhouse, located at 38334 10th Street East in Palmdale.
Presented by the Palmdale Junior Ballet and directed by Heather Benes, The Snow Queen is based on the original story by Hans Christian Andersen.
“Audiences will witness the adventures of young Gerda as she travels to save her best friend Kai,” said Theatre Operations Assistant Debbie Barrientes. “You’ll meet the Enchantress, the Rose and the Wise Crow and enjoy the Princess who knows everything in the world and her newspaper court.”
“Then you’ll be dazzled with The Joy of Christmas featuring tap and jazz dance with choreography by Erin Hvegholm. Featured pieces include Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Here Comes Santa Claus and What Christmas Means to Me by Stevie Wonder.”
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors, students, military and youth 12 and under. Groups of 10 or more receive a $2 discount on each ticket.
