RIDGECREST – A 65-year-old Palmdale man died in a single-engine plane crash Saturday in the Dove Springs area, just west of Highway 14, according to authorities.
The man was reportedly identified as Richard Hames Crosley and was the only one aboard the homebuilt two-seat aircraft.

It was my uncle that flew that plane and died that day…. not good news to wake up to. Uncle Rich taught me how to drive, in his brand spanking new Izuzu Trooper 11!!! I “flew” his plane, when I was 4 months pregnant with my son (who is now 20). He was a source of much laughter, love and LOVE!!!! My heart was broken when I heard the news! I still have to stop, every day, and just say, “Hi, Uncle Rich!” I hope and pray that he hears me. Greg, Scott…. he loved you both sooooo much!!!!

Greg,
I hope you will be able to piece together what happened. I think about this everyday, and it’s hard not knowing. Maybe this lady will be able to help you. God was providing for you ..by providing this woman to be praying for you, even before you knew how much you would be needing Gods grace. Thank you to Kris for posting this.

I was there that day and saw the plane go down. It was a very sad thing to see.I was not able to do anything but say a prayer for the family.

You were there?! Did high winds cause the plane to spiral and then crash? How big was the plane? It sounds like it was a makeshift little plane… Did it burst into flames? Poor guy…

Kris,
Thank you for praying for our family that day. It was my dad that was in the plane and we’re still trying to figure out what happened that day. I am an airline pilot with just a few questions and would be interested in talking with you if you are willing. I can be reached at gscrosley@gmail.com.
Thanks, Greg
