PALMDALE – The Palmdale Aerospace Academy (TPAA) is currently receiving student applications for the 2012-13 school year. Parents and guardians of students currently enrolled in grades 6, 7 and 8 are encouraged to apply.
Applications are available online at: www.palmdalesd.org/tpaa. Hard copies of the application are available at schools within the Palmdale School District.
Residents of the Palmdale Schools District’s geographic area are asked to bring proof of residency for use in a possible lottery for enrollment. Parents and guardians of prospective students must bring the application to the Palmdale School District offices in person. The deadline to turn in applications is March 16, 2012.
Once an application is submitted, each prospective student will be issued a registration number. This number will be used in the event that the school receives more applicants than there are spaces available per grade level.
The academy is advising interested parties to submit their student’s application as soon as possible. For more information on the lottery process, individuals may find details in the school’s petition which can be accessed via www.palmdalesd.org/tpaa.
Members of the community are encouraged to let prospective students and their families know about this opportunity. TPAA is an independent charter school created via the collaborative efforts of The Palmdale School District, the City of Palmdale, and the AERO Institute.
The academy will offer a robust and rigorous, college and career preparation program which supports workforce development in the Palmdale region. This academy’s instructional series in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is designed to hone the natural skills and abilities of students as it prepares them to become pioneers and leaders in the workforce of the future.
