PALMDALE – This Saturday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Palmdale Station will be hosting their annual “Public Safety Expo” at the Antelope Valley Mall.
The event showcases both the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Both departments will display the many different services they provide to communities in the Antelope Valley, including Search and Rescue, Traffic Services, Sheriff’s Racing Team, Urban Search and Rescue Unit, LA County Fire Engine Companies, Volunteer mounted Unit, Palmdale Stations Explorer Unit, Antelope Valley CERT, LASD Traffic Services Unit, LASD STAR Unit, and many more.
Other participants in this year’s Safety Expo include the California Highway Patrol, The City of Palmdale’s Public Safety Office, and American Medical Response.
The Expo will take place in the parking lot and courtyard of the Antelope Valley Mall’s southern entrance.
In conjunction with the Expo, the Palmdale Sheriff Boosters will be hosting a community car show and Chili Cook Off. There will be a dunk tank and a live radio broadcast featuring High Desert Broadcasting’s KMVE 106.9, Classic Top 40.
This event is free and open to the public, but there is a small donation for chili tasting. Proceeds from the chili tasting will be used to build a memorial at the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station for peace officers killed in the line of duty.
