LANCASTER – High Desert Medical Group’s recent Life Festival named Sandy Corrales-Eneix as their Life Award recipient.
The award is extended, annually, to a single citizen that has demonstrated consequential merit. This year’s awardee was unable to attend the spring Life Festival event, so the medical group elected to honor her at a special luncheon Thursday at their Lancaster office.
Born in Los Angeles and majoring in Journalism at the University of Southern California, Sandy Corrales-Eneix has been a Palmdale resident since 1988. Corrales-Eneix co-owned a graphic design and public relations company for 16 years. She served as president of both the Palmdale and AV Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. She was also a planning commissioner for the City of Palmdale in the 1990s.
In 2001, Corrales-Eneix was elected to the Palmdale School Board and is now serving her third term as a Trustee. The position involves oversight responsibility for 24 school sites and 22,000 students. She has been an Officer of numerous clubs and organizations, such as the Democratic Club of the High Desert, United Way, Latin American Club, AV Women in Action and more. In 2010, she helped found the local chapter of the League of Women Voters AV.
According to Rafael Gonzalez, HDMG administrator, “Sandy exemplifies the best in community activism. We are very proud to honor her this year.”

That’s debatable. But congrats, Sandy – and thanks for helping out all those students who deserved a chance.
