LOS ANGELES – A Lancaster man was among a trio arrested Monday for firing numerous shots at a Compton home.
Dushawn Johnson, 21, was arrested for several felony firearm and evading offenses. Compton deputies also recovered an assault rifle from the trio’s vehicle.
The following is the press report from the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.
On Monday, June 25, 2012, at approximately 9:12 a.m., Compton deputies responded to the 1600 block of Piru Street, Compton in regards to a shots fired call.
The deputies contacted the victim who stated he was inside his residence, when he heard four to five gunshots and saw an older model vehicle driven by a male Black adult leave the area.
Deputies located a vehicle matching the description on 131st Street and McKinley Avenue and initiated a vehicle pursuit which ended at 11900 Block of South Bellhaven Avenue in Los Angeles.
The driver abandoned the vehicle while the other two suspects remained inside and were immediately apprehended. The deputies recovered an assault rifle from the suspects’ vehicle, along with several expended 22 caliber casings.
The third suspect later voluntarily surrendered to deputies after running into a nearby converted garage on East 119th Street in Los Angeles.
All three suspects were later identified during field show ups and were arrested for several felony firearms and evading offenses.
No one was injured during the incident.
The three suspects were identified as:
- Dushawn Johnson, 21, of Lancaster
- Joseph Devin Blalark, 21, of Los Angeles
- Theron Morris, 20, of Los Angeles
