LANCASTER – Detectives are searching for two thieves who stole a car at gunpoint Sunday night.
The carjacking happened around 9:30 p.m. on 5th Street East near Avenue H-8 in Lancaster.
A driver and one passenger were parked on the side of the road in a 2012 Honda Civic, when two men walked by and then came back to the car moments later, said Lancaster Station Watch Sgt. Schlecht.
“They had a handgun that was displayed to the victims, and they told them to exit the vehicle,” Schlecht said. “Then they took the vehicle.”
No one was injured in the incident and no other property from the victims was taken, Schlecht said.
The two suspects are described as “one male Black wearing a hoodie sweatshirt and a male White with no further description,” said Schlecht.
The car had not been recovered as of 11 a.m. Monday.
Anyone with information on this carjacking is urged to contact Lancaster detectives at 661-948-8466. If you would like to provide information anonymously, you can do so by calling Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Isn’t Compton the city that had a crack smoking Mayor and after all the legal issues, he was elected again? Just wondering.
Letlow says
That was not Compton. That was Washington DC and the crack smoking mayor was Marion Barry. He smoked crack on video served time in federal prison and was still elected back to the Mayor’s seat.
Hey, if the good folks in Washington DC like him, then more power to them. But come on, why all the Compton hate?

Oh yeah, thanks.

What is with people on this site throwing around the city of Compton as the epitome of the ghetto and crime? Some of you throwing around Compton have never even been there and are going off what you see in movies and hear in rap songs… pathetic!
The couple of times I have been to Compton, I have found it no better or worse than the Antelope Valley. I happen to know a prominent doctor who could be anywhere in LA, but chose to put her practice in Compton. Stereotyping Compton as a den of crime and ghetto behavior is no better than stereotyping blacks as section 8, fatherless thieves…
I did note in this story, that one of the carjackers was White. I wonder how that plays into the stereotype.
In my mind, it doesn’t! He is still a car thief and a criminal and he’s just as bad as his Black partner in crime.
I wish all the stereotyping would end so that we can come together and get our community out of the GUTTER. Good grief!!!!

Obviously you haven’t been to Compton enough times. While there are some “nice parts” there is no way you can compare it to the AV! Much more crime there. I grew up in the next town over so I would go there quite often as I had some friends that lived there. Definitely not a place I would like to be. Only way some can say it isn’t “any worse than the Antelope Valley” is if you are immune to being in a bad environment.

There was a time when the AV was one of the safest and best communities to live for working folks who wanted to experience the suburban dream with a reasonable commute down the 14. That all changed when the thugs and hood rats started to move out to the AV from Compton, Altadena, Watts, South Central and Crenshaw. Compton has a lower crime now because the black population there is being replaced by Latino-Hisp. people

God forbid we post facts without proof on this site .However, I believe you are correct in your statement.

In an effort to help our community, I believe it would be productive if the color, make, year and license number of the car were listed, so that we all could contribute to the apprehension of those two criminals and the betterment of our city.

Why? They have the car. The description in the article were describing items they DON’T have. They can’t find the Hood Rats, Bright Guy.
