PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, August 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Red Cross’ Bloodmobile, which will be stationed at Poncitlán Square.
The blood drive is open to City of Palmdale employees as well as residents who wish to donate blood.
Each donor will receive two tickets to the Laugh Factory, a voucher good for two tickets to a Chivas soccer game and the chance to enter a drawing for a prize.
“There is a great need for blood right now,” said Administrative Technician and Blood Drive Coordinator Kathy Inman. “If anyone would like to donate blood, please give me a call at 267-5229.”
The City of Palmdale hosts three blood drives annually in conjunction with its employee wellness program.
Last year, City of Palmdale employees and residents combined to donate 100 pints of blood to the American Red Cross.
According to American Red Cross statistics, three lives can be saved for every pint of donated blood.
“Our goal is to go over 100 pints this year,” Inman said.
