PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale’s “Next Generation” Youth Council will host its first meeting of the 2012-13 school year this Monday, Sept. 10 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Chimbole Cultural center, 38250 Sierra Highway. in Palmdale. New members are welcome to attend.
The council is seeking new members to join and assist in the development and planning of council activities and service projects for Palmdale Youth. Past activities have included Ready, Set Go Green, Celebrate Youth, a holiday toy drive, Our Voice and family fun nights.
“This is a great time to join the Council,” said Community Programs Supervisor Trish Jones. “We will be electing new officers in September and the council is anxious to begin a new slate of activities for the coming year.”
Palmdale youths between the ages of 12 and 18 who would like to be a part of the Next Generation Youth Council may call Jones at 661/267-5181 or attend one of the meetings.
