PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale’s Public Safety and Community Relations Department will host an emergency preparedness presentation this Monday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at 38300 Sierra Hwy, Suite B.
“This presentation will offer how-to information, educational presentations and materials on how to be properly prepared for emergencies,” said Palmdale’s Director of Public Safety and Community Relations Anne Ambrose. “Being prepared for an emergency is a must for all residents.”
“For Palmdale residents is it vitally important to be prepared for an emergency such as an earthquake, especially since our City sits on the San Andreas Fault line,” said Ambrose. “The good news is, if you’re prepared for an earthquake as you should be, then you’re also prepared for other natural disasters such as wildfires and storms, too.”
Guest speakers from the LA County Fire Department, LA County Sheriff’s Department, Red Cross and others will be present.
“There are also several online resources that can assist people in their emergency preparedness efforts,” added Ambrose. Those resources include www.avpreppers.webs.com and www.redcrossla.org/antelopevalley.
“Remember, it’s never too early to prepare for an emergency, but it can be too late,” Ambrose said.
