PALMDALE – The first of four facilitated discussions hosted by the City of Palmdale entitled, “Commitment to Youth,” will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Highland High School Cafeteria, 39055 25th Street West in Palmdale.
The discussions are designed to assess the current state of our youth community, identify our strengths and develop strategies for the coming years. Residents of all ages are invited to attend these free meetings.
“We’re inviting the public to join with us to talk about issues that are important to youth and to give us input as we strategize for the future,” said Palmdale’s Community Programs Supervisor Trish Jones. “It’s something we began doing earlier this year and we want to continue.”
Three other discussions will be held on:
- Thursday, Oct. 4, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Palmdale High School Cafeteria, 2137 East Avenue R in Palmdale;
- Monday, Oct. 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the William “Pete” Knight High School Library, 37423 70th Street East in Palmdale; and
- Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center, 38350 Sierra Highway in Palmdale.
The event is being hosted by the City of Palmdale and the Palmdale Youth Master Plan Project.
“We’re looking for input from both youth and adults as we address the needs and issues we all face,” said Jones. “Come out and have your voice heard!”
