LANCASTER – A celebrity guest appearance by actress/singer Florence Henderson will be one of the many highlights of Senior Expo 2012, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Thursday.
The theme for this year’s Senior Expo is “Life is a Journey,” which celebrates travel and geography. More than 100 vendor booths will be located on aisles named after the world’s seven continents.
The event will also feature a cruise give-away, sponsored by Lancaster Honda and AV Subaru, and a $500 visa card, sponsored by Merrill Gardens. Those who bring a canned food item to donate to Grace Resource Center will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 Antelope Valley Mall gift card.
Senior Expo offers a full day of local entertainment, free health screenings and seasonal flu shots for seniors 62 and over. Health screenings will include bone density, cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, body fat, vision and more.
An event highlight is always the naming of the new “Senior of the Year.” The Award Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., where the winner and nominees will all be recognized.
Florence Henderson will take the stage at 1 p.m.
Best known for her ABC sitcom role as the mother of The Brady Bunch, Henderson is also known for her recent appearance on Dancing with the Stars.
Senior Expo 2012 will be held on Thursday, October 4 at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, located at 2551 W. Ave. H, Lancaster. Parking and admission are free for this event.

I do accept as true with all the ideas you have introduced for your post. They’re really convincing and will certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are very short for beginners. Could you please extend them a bit from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.

Ace, you obviously are not in the target demographic . Denigrating something that others enjoy – and thousands of seniors participate in every year – just makes you sound petty and small. Or so young that you still think everyone should be exactly like you.
