PALMDALE – The potential to save 99 lives was realized as the City of Palmdale’s American Red Cross Blood Drive netted 33 pints of donated blood this past Tuesday.
“We had a great turnout from employees and local residents,” said Administrative Technician and Blood Drive Coordinator Kathy Inman. “Three lives can be saved for every pint of blood that’s donated, so our drive really had a positive impact.”
Donors were given tickets to the Laugh Factory, Grammy Museum, Chivas Soccer game, Clippers game, USC basketball game and a $5 El Torito coupon.
“Thanks to everyone who helped make this a success, and a special thank you to the local media played an important role in getting the word out,” said Palmdale Communications Manager John Mlynar. “I met several people at the blood drive who told me they read about it in the paper or online, heard it on the radio, or saw it on the local TV news.”
This was the City’s third blood drive of the year.
City of Palmdale employees and residents combined to donate 95 pints of blood to the American Red Cross.
