LANCASTER – An 18-year-old man was jailed Tuesday morning after deputies found him driving a stolen car and connected him to a recent home burglary.
Duncan Nicoll was arrested around 10 a.m. on burglary charges and jailed on $50,000 bail, according to Lancaster Community Relations Deputy Michael Rust.
Rust said a Lancaster deputy was on routine patrol when the deputy spotted a green Chevrolet Tahoe that had been reported stolen.
The deputy stopped the Tahoe, and Nicoll was taken into custody without incident.
During his investigation, the deputy learned that the Tahoe and several other items, including a large screen television, had been stolen from a recent home burglary.
The home burglary occurred Monday afternoon in the 2000 block of East Oldfield Street, and Nicoll admitted to being involved, Rust said.
Deputies did not locate any of the other stolen items.
Lancaster Station’s Burglary Suppression Team is still investigating the crime.
