QUARTZ HILL – Lancaster Station detectives are searching for the culprits responsible for ransacking and burglarizing a Quartz Hill liquor store early Thursday morning.
The incident took place between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Thursday at a liquor store in the 41900 Block of 50th West in Quartz Hill, according to Lancaster Community Relations deputy Michael Rust.
The owner told detectives that when he opened the store, shortly after 7 a.m., he found several bottles of liquor and other merchandise scattered across the floor, Rust said.
During their investigation, detectives learned that the suspects entered the store by cutting a large hole in the roof, and then made off with an unknown amount of liquor and tobacco products, Rust said.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Department’s Crime Lab were called to the location to assist with the investigation.
Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact Lancaster detectives at 661-948-8466.
If you would like to remain anonymous, you may do so by calling Crimestoppers at 800-222-8477.

I have never considered Quartz Hill the gem of the A.V. There’s no invisible line keeping the thugs away from any area. If this did happen in Palmdale it’s no big news or deal. We do live in L.A. County and not in a pristine part of planet earth. The crime numbers of doctored depending on what the politicians in this area want us to believe. However, being a smart and street-wise adult, I see the crime element all over the Antelope Valley, Ca. I’m quite sure that the thugs responsible will be caught as the L.A. County Sheriff Dept. has great high tech equipment, and the deputies know their job. How could that area be a gem with a Ca. State Prison down the street, not far from schools, homes or businesses? Ridiculous to blame President Obama or Gov. Jerry Brown.
HM says
QH used to be a pretty nice area and considered the best area of the Antelope Valley..but, within the last 10 years or so, it has become so heavily inudated by section 8, thanks to greedy property owners, that it is no longer considered the best area.. so glad we got out of there when we did.. now, if I go to a store in QH to shop, someone almost always approaches begging for money or cigarettes..
Hector says
I hear what you’re saying…and I live in Quartz Hill…and I hate the beggers and Section 8ers too. But the problem is with not the greedy property owners. I’d rent to some losers too if the government paid the rent. The problem is Section 8 itself. I say get rid of it and let them starve or get a job. Just my two cents.
Hector says
Oops…”not with”.
Raptorman says
We are in the midst of a resurgent crime problem right when the Left is telling us we need to get rid of the death penalty and three strikes. I get the feeling with the added move to get criminals into Section 8 and back on welfare, we’re in for a long, hard ride. Thanks Browney, thanks Obummer for the mispleasure.
Look for the Newports and Crystal parties, you’ll find your “boyz!”
HM says
so true, Raptorman! gov. moonbeam keeps working his ass off to make our state less appealing to the hard working, decent people…he tends to like that criminal element..
Andrew says
They have to have their malt liquor and menthol cigarettes…
Palmdale_Steve says
Booze and smokes, all something readily converted to cash by druggies or kids.
QHR says
I thought I read of a similar incident in East Palmdale a few weeks ago. What is going on with all the crime in the AV? And now, in the gem of the AV, Quartz Hill??? Damn thugs!
Citizen of AV says
It’s Jerry’s Kids – Jerry Brown that is.
G-man says
Really? Less than a block from the LASD QH Substation in the middle of the night on the quietest “Main” street in the AV and you’re blaming the Governor?
really says
That substation isnt even staffed…
