Suspect arrested in Palmdale stabbing death

PALMDALE – A 36-year-old man has been arrested for stabbing a man to death in an apartment complex parking lot in east Palmdale late Wednesday night (Oct. 17).

Alfred Crowder of Palmdale was arrested on suspicion of murder, Sheriff’s Homicide Detective Holly Francisco said Sunday.

Crowder was arrested around 4 p.m. Friday and booked at 8:05 p.m. at the Palmdale Station, according to LASD inmate records.

Francisco said detectives could not release any information regarding a possible motive for the stabbing, or whether or not there was more than one person involved, because they did not want to jeopardize the ongoing investigation.

“At this time we don’t know the relationship between the victim and the suspect,” Francisco said. “The investigators are still interviewing people and we can’t release a whole lot of the information because of investigative reasons.”

Around 11:14 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, Victor Miguel Enriquez was found on the ground with multiple stab wounds to the torso in the parking lot of the Sonoma Apartment Homes in the 38500 Block of 11th Street East, officials said.

Enriquez, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene around 11:31 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.

“I just can’t believe people would take my son like that, just brutally kill him like he was a piece of meat!” said Enriquez’ mother, Michelle Thomas.

Thomas said her son had been living with her in Bakersfield, but had recently moved back to Palmdale.

“I begged him not to come back here, and he came anyway because he wanted to be with his kids,” Thomas said through tears. “He came back to death!”

Sylvia Enriquez said she was still in shock over her little brother’s murder.

“He was a loving and caring person; he loved his kids first and foremost…” Enriquez said. “My brother did not deserve to be killed, he was murdered. I want everybody to know that he was a very kind and gentle person, despite what everyone may think of him.”

Enriquez leaves behind three children – an 8-year-old, a 5-year-old and a 7-month-old – family members said.

Updated 10/24/12: Alfred Crowder has been charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of Victor Enriquez, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Crowder appeared in court Tuesday, but did not enter a plea. His arraignment was postponed until Nov. 6, and he was ordered back to custody on $1 million bail.

      Well sexy, there are quite a few who haven ‘t, they get up every day, go to work or school, do what they are supposed to do, dress appropriately and pay attention in class so they can express them selves using good grammar. They don’t sell drugs or shoot and stab people, regardless of race or economic class.

Victor’s family was in the court throughing up gang signs act like gang members one man had his son in his hand doing it they were looking for Alfred’s family members talking about doing something to them Victor’s Mothers is a gang member they are [removed] an act the same way Victor does an u can clearly see where he got it from but that don’t MEAN HE had to die cause his mother never tault him gang banging was wrong cause the whole family was gang banging

  14. Firstly I will give my condolences to the bereaved. Another young man has lost his life and potential to provide for his family. There’s a stronger message though. It’s wrong to speak ill of the deceased, however, truth is far superior to ettiquite.
    I also would think that Alfred Crowder has a family that will miss him. whom will likely see him spend the majority of the rest of his life (providing he is found guilty(and regardless if he actually commited the crime) in State Prison.

    No one wins. The only thing conveyed to the world is that people still kill people for unjustified reasons, and now its occuring more frequently in our community.

    Be careful the company you keep for it might result in your life. Long term labels get placed on short term actions. Say No to Gangs. No to drugs. Yes to your 2nd ammendment. Defend your right to exist or perrish. Kill ignorance not your neighbors.

    • UNBELIEVABLE, how you can say “from his FB page he looks like a gang banger, well when I looked on his page I saw a man who was loving to his wife & kids & wasn’t afraid to show it. Yes, there were pictures of him gang banging but those were the minority. I had to go looking for those pictures, the ones of him, his wife, and children just jumped out at me. You would focus on the negative SHAME ON YOU, YOU WILL BE IN MY PRAYERS AS WELL AS HIS FAMILY.

      • I agree! The pictures with Victor and his kids are the most recent ones from this year and the others ones showing him doing gang signs are from two years ago.

        But not a week after he is brutally murdered and someone want to dig all the way into his facebook page and talk about him being a gang banger when they know family members are grieving his MURDER. I could see people finding bad stuff to say about the killer, but to make jokes and speak ill about a man who was MURDERED in cold blood, knowing his grieving family members may see it… that takes a special kind of heartlessness, shamelessness and miserableness.

        I wouldn’t even give these people the time of day if I was a family member. The one above will deal with people like that!
