LANCASTER – Deputies arrested two men and are looking for a third suspect in connection with a drive-by shooting in Lancaster Sunday night, authorities said.
The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 43700 Block of Foxton Avenue, according to Lancaster Community Relations deputy Michael Rust.
“The victim was standing in front of his house when he saw a vehicle with three males inside of it coming towards him,” Rust said. “As he turned to walk back into his house, he heard several gunshots.”
Rust said the victim was not hit by the gunfire.
The suspects sped away, but crashed into a curb and disabled their car, a short time later, Rust said.
“Another witness saw them get into a white Chevrolet Tahoe,” Rust said. “That information was given to the deputies, and a field sergeant actually saw the Tahoe and conducted a traffic stop.”
During the traffic stop, one of the suspects ran away and was not captured. Deputies arrested the other two suspects and recovered a handgun from the car, Rust said.
Authorities are not releasing the names or the ages of the two suspects, due to the pending investigation. The suspects and the victim are all Hispanic male adults, Rust said.
The matter is being investigated by gang detectives, Rust added.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Lancaster Sheriff’s Station at 661-948-8466. To remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
