PALMDALE – The Palmdale Playhouse will host a fun-filled evening that will feature a visit from St. Nick and a well-loved Christmas movie with a presentation of “Santa and Movie” this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7 & 8 at 4:30 and 7:30 pm.
Santa will be on hand to greet guests of all ages in the decorated Playhouse lobby before guests are seating inside the auditorium for a viewing of the beloved classic, “A Christmas Story.”
“Bring your family and start a new holiday tradition with Santa And A Movie,” said Palmdale Playhouse Theatre Operations Coordinator Debbie Barrientes. “This is a perfect time to see Santa and enjoy a classic holiday movie. You may also take home a keepsake photo with frame to remember this special occasion.”
“A Christmas Story” takes place in the town of Hohman, Indiana, a fictionalized version of film author Jean Shepherd’s hometown of Hammond, Indiana. The movie features nine-year-old Ralph “Ralphie” Parker who desires only one thing in the world for Christmas: a Red Ryder BB gun. Ralphie tries several schemes to convince his parents to get him the BB gun, but he is constantly reminded by them and others who object by saying, “You’ll shoot your eye out.”

Visit with Santa Claus On The BLVD
LANCASTER – Many of us have fond childhood memories of sharing our Christmas list with Santa Claus. Now patrons of The BLVD can visit with Santa on the upcoming Thursdays and Saturdays prior to Christmas.
“With The BLVD full of holiday activities, beautiful Christmas displays and a lot of yuletide cheer, this is the perfect time to start a tradition of bringing your little ones downtown for a visit with Santa,” said Mayor R. Rex Parris.
Santa will be available on December 6, 13 and 20 during the Thursday BLVD Farmers’ Market from 3 – 6 p.m., inside the eclectic Forge retail store. Santa and his elves can be found inside Forge at the front entrance Christmas tree. Forge is located in the BLVD Cinema complex, 742 West Lancaster Boulevard.
Santa Claus will be in attendance at A Magical BLVD Christmas event on December 8, from 5 – 9 p.m. In addition to his other appearances, Santa will also be on The BLVD Saturday, December 15, from noon to 2 p.m., and December 22 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., during High Desert Broadcasting’s “Four Days of Disneyland” live broadcasts.
Visits with Santa are free to the public and photography is allowed. Everyone is encouraged to bring their cameras and take pictures with Santa.
