Introducing Maximus… AV’s first baby of 2013

LANCASTER – Antelope Valley Hospital greeted their first baby of the New Year at 1:08 a.m. January 1, 2013.

Maximus Logan Davis was born at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and measured in at 19.34 inches in length. Maximus is the first child for new parents and Palmdale residents, Taylor Blackburn and Earl Davis.

When asked on the choice of name, Dad stated, “It’s a very strong name and he is going to be a strong person.”

Mom was 41 weeks exactly, with a due date of December 25. She was in labor for around 12 hours.

“He came into this world with a bang on New Year’s,” explained Blackburn. “I was scared because he was blue.”

As the community’s first baby of 2013, Maximus and his parents were given a large gift basket from AV Hospital that included a variety of baby items, such as an infant car seat, baby blankets, baby clothes, supplies, crib accessories, photo albums, and stuffed animals.

“We are honored to celebrate the arrival of the 2013 New Year’s Baby,” said AV Hospital Chief Executive Officer Edward Mirzabegian. “We wish Maximus a life filled with good health and happiness.”

Maximus came shy of the Los Angeles County’s first baby, Dorian Martin-Jean Hardy, who was born at 12 a.m. exactly in Woodland Hills.

In past 12 months alone, 5,500 newborns were delivered at AVH’s Women and Infants Pavilion.

Maximus is the first child for new parents and Palmdale residents, Taylor Blackburn and Earl Davis.

  5. Just a working grandmother who likes happy moments. Lives don’t revolve around politics. Hope you get it find your happy moment.

    • It would seem that some people could reach beyond their political bias and be joyful of a beautiful child born into this world, no matter this child’s financial status or family situation.

      After all, isn’t this what life is all about – the blessing of a child?

      Those who immediately judge others who they assume are less than themselves are shallow, self-centered – and provide nothing positive to the human race.

  8. Just a little information for you….. Taylor and Earl have been together for quite sometime. He works a full time job to support his family and they have rings and plans to get married very soon, not that its any of your business what they choose to do with their lives…..
