Detectives seek help in solving club shooting

LANCASTER – The Lancaster Station Operation Safe Streets Unit (OSS) is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a shooting that occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, February 23.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. outside the Industry Theater, a concert venue and nightclub in the 43000 block of Business Center Parkway in Lancaster.

Four adult males, ages 18, 22, 27 and 37, were injured by gun fire, but their injuries were not life threatening, according to deputy Miguel T. Ruiz.

The shooting happened after an argument between two parties at the club, Ruiz states.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact OSS Detective Gutierrez at 310-351-7764. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stopper at 1-800-222-8477.

  1. Did the 4 guys who were shot provide descriptions, or didn’t they see who shot them? Are they cooperating with the investigation? If not, maybe they should spend a night or two in jail for obstruction.

      • So, if the club security did most of the shooting…did they shoot these 4 adult males mentioned in the story or is there a crazed gansta out there shooting people? Not funny I know, there’s lots of them. Seriously, was the club security returning fire or did they take guns to a fist fight?

  2. If I remember correctly, LEAPS should have been able to “zero in” on this location within seconds of the call to Lancaster Station reporting shots fired. Where was LEAPS? On an emergency? Or did the desk people not think the call was a priority? Where was LEAPS? That’s the real question I have.

          • Turd has been told several times before that several cities right here in southern California already have their own version of LEAPS because of the high cost of helo operations, but once again Turd can’t be bothered by the truth.

    • How about we suspend LEAPS for 1 month and put cameras in a few hot spots around town…see how many bad guys can be spotted by the officers from the secret room behind the desk at Lancaster Station. Boots already on the ground can go pick them up. Cameras could not be any more invasive than LEAPS.

      • Do a little Google searching on what it costs to have commercial grade camera systems and software installed. You’ll find that the cost is equal to and in some cases more than what Lancaster is currently paying for LEAPS.
        Don’t you think that if the city of Lancaster could have justified the cost of public cameras they would already be installed on and around the BLVD. They are not installed because it’s very expensive for the hardware and just as expensive every month to run the network (owned by the local telco) from each camera to the sheriff department.

          • Aero support from LASD is part of the contract, but that support like a lot of the resources within LASD are shared with multiple municipalities. In the case of Aero specifically we are subject to the needs of 3 cities (Santa Clarita, Palmdale, Lancaster) and multiple unincorporated areas of north LA county.
            There are a lot of times when Aero support is not available and LEAPS is a way that the city of Lancaster can overcome that.
            Cost for Cost and hours on airframe is like 3:1 in favor of LEAPS.
            In real world cost LEAPS is $300/hr and Aero is over $800/hr. LEAPS can be in the air about 3 times as often as a helicopter too. Overhaul cost and time between overhaul is better for a Cessna 172.. the list goes on and on as to the affordability of using a fixed wing over a helicopter.
            It’s literally like comparing a Honda Civic and a Ferrari in usage and cost.. When all the factors are compiled even the Ferrari owner needs a Honda to get to and from the Ferrari dealership every time it needs to go in to the shop for scheduled maintenance..
