I wish they would put this much effort into enforcing jaywalking laws. Maybe that would help deter people from walking out into the street and getting hit by cars.

I think these check points would yield a higher number of DUI’S if they were conducted un-anounced. they are given plenty of warning that they will take place.

I think you’d be amazed at the amount of drivers that don’t get the memo. Beside the fact that it would be deemed unconstitutional.

Another person that has no idea what they are talking about. A plumber averages 75 dollars an hour. A deputy on overtime makes on average 50 dollars an hour. If one drunk is taken off the road it is worth it. I am sorry you would prefer the state dump more money into social assistance programs rather than protect the residents of the AV. Btw my brother is a plumber and makes $130 an hour on overtime.

Yeah, and another genius who can’t read between the lines. You just outted yourself to the entire community, Bright Guy.

The fact that I can do research and look at the county website is no great accomplishment. I’m an analyst by trade so when you make bogus statements regarding verifiable things I will check the numbers. Exposing people to your ignorance discredits your statements.

Wow. You prolly lift with your knees, not your back. Do you wear goggles when you fire up the ‘ol BBQ? Elbow pads when you ride your bike, Bud? Drive the speed limit do ya? Do you make sure to use the safety guard on your chop saw? Do you use turn signals AND hand signals? Do you plug your ears when the ambulance siren drives by? Do you eat a salad for breakfast? Have a hard hat on as we speak?
You liberals are a little too stuffy, Bro….
Thomas says
I am really sorry you had a bad experience when you were arrested. Your dislike of the dui checkpoint must come from experience. I hope you can move past it.

Over 1250 drivers screened, one DUI? There’s a win-win. We, as drivers, see a pretty good average of how many drunkards are on the road during critical hours. And, these badges make more in one shift of OT than a plumber makes in two weeks. So many thanks to the state’s OTS for the knowledge, and the gifts. Whichever applies to you.
