PALMDALE – Palmdale detectives are searching for a suspect who robbed a Radio Shack store at gunpoint Saturday morning, authorities said.
The incident happened around 9 a.m., right after the store opened for business at a strip mall in the 1700 Block of East Palmdale Boulevard, according to Deputy Dimmitt of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.
The suspect entered the store, brandished a black firearm, and stole several iPhones and an undisclosed amount of cash, Dimmitt said.
A lone female employee was in the store at the time of robbery. She told responding deputies that the robber may have been lurking in a walkway several storefronts down waiting for the store to open, Dimmitt said.
The gunman is described as a Black male wearing a dark gray hoodie and black pants.
He escaped on foot and ran eastbound on Palmdale Boulevard, Dimmitt said.
Anyone with information on this armed robbery is urged to contact Palmdale Sheriff’s Station detectives at 661-272-2400.
To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.

Pretty much, after the employee’s & or management do an inventory check, then report what phone’s were stolen along with the phone’s ESN’s/Electronic Serial Number’s & or IMEI’s then report them to Radio Shack’s inventory HQ. Then, IF Radio Shack reports the phones & their corresponding ESN’s/IMEI’s to the carrier’s (Sprint, Verizon, etc.), they’ll be expensive paper weights. Except the smart phones, which can still be used for limited purposes over WIFI (like: apps/games, music, watching movies, VOIP calls, etc).
Definitely not worth an armed robbery felony conviction!
