PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library will present a free emergency preparedness seminar entitled “Preparing for the Worst” on Wednesday, May 29 at 6 pm in the Lilac Room of the Chimbole Cultural Center, located at 38350 Sierra Highway in Palmdale.
“If you want to know how you can truly be prepared in an emergency, then this seminar is for you,” said Palmdale City Library Director Thomas Vose. “Living here in the Antelope Valley along the San Andreas Fault line and in the desert where the threat of fire is constant, emergency situations are inevitable.”
Presented by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, this program will discuss:
- How to make a “go bag,”
- How to create a plan,
- What to keep stored at home, and
- How community relationships can save your life.
The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
