VIDEO: Lancaster commissioner should resign, resident says

Stan Muhammad used an anti-gay slur at a Community Prayer and Call to Action event on July 20, 2013 in Lancaster, California. He is a Lancaster Neighborhood Vitalization Commissioner appointed by Mayor R. Rex Parris. Although there is a large outcry by citizens for his removal, the mayor refuses to remove him, keeping the community divided as he has through other situations.

  6. Rex Parris needs to go!! He’s done very little good for Lancaster-in fact I can’t think of one single thing offhand. He’s a douchebag,is all I can say.

    • Maria how can you say that? He has made a lot of money for all the lawyers suing Lancaster on account of his blabber mouthing and bullying. That is a good thing for those lawyers.

  7. Didn’t Rex say now it’s a matter of keeping his enemy close enough to keep an eye on him? Seems like he made a statement similar to that on Ch3 news.

  8. Does the term “Useful Idiot” mean anything to you, and NO I’m not calling anyone an Idiot. It’s a political term.

    Mayor TRex is involved in the law suit against Palmdale for having “at large” elections for council members, could anyone involved in this dust up be plaintive in that suit? As an aside, what is Mayor TRex doing to make at large council elections go away in Lancaster?

  9. The Mayor appoints a city commissioner that is a member of a known hate group, and then Gay and Jew bashes in public, and that is not the mayors responsibility? He appointed this guy!
    So, is Lancaster now the community where known Nation of Islam, or KKK, or Nazi Party members, can be appointed and we don’t have some responsibility for that?

    • and then the mayor himself makes a public joke of it in a city meeting?

    • Did you ever think he might have appointed Mr Muhammad to keep “his people” in tow?

    • Not when you are a stoolie for Parris. Parris owes Stan M. for carrying his water on the voters right’s lawsuit.

    • Sherry Marquez had a big mouth as well, that is why she left the council. She was a ticking time bomb that had to go before the city got a lawsuit.

  10. Mr. Pelka, I agree that Stan used some offensive words but I don’t believe that is why you made this video. You are using this issue as a backdoor way to attack Rex. It stinks!

    • You can accuse me of whatever you want. However the facts and video speak for themselves. Stan made the remarks, then Rex made the poor joke. It is well known that I think Rex is an idiot and his behavior at most council meetings show exactly that. When it took Stan at least a 5 second pause before he used the first slam and that was not a slip it was a thought out statement on his part. I am offended by all of it. Rex won’t even engage me in a dialog when I speak at council meetings… He waits till I sit down so I cant respond to his attacks.

    • He could have added video of Sherry Marquez (pronounced Marcus, like carcass) and her anti Muslim remarks, her lame apology and Rex defending her. One thing you can say about Rex is he sure surrounds himself with bigots and defends them.
