No DUI arrests, 5 impounds at Palmdale Checkpoint

DUI CheckpointPALMDALE – No one was arrested for driving under the influence at a Palmdale Sheriff’s Station sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint Friday night and early Saturday morning.

The operation was conducted from 6:45 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the northbound lanes of 10th Street West, between the intersections of Avenue M and Avenue N.

The results of the checkpoint are as follows:

965 vehicles traveled through checkpoint.

965 vehicles screened.

Two DUI tests performed.

No DUI arrests.

Five suspended license violations.

Nine unlicensed driver violations.

One other violation.

Five vehicles impounded.

Three vehicles stored.

Six unlicensed drivers’ vehicles released.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the State of California’s Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) through the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency.

Also, you are free to sell your fruits or flower, or do my lawn, I really appreciate all that. But what you can’t do in this country, in US – use racial slurs, be a racist, you can’t do this here, ok?? I know how you hate each other over there, in “central america”, and you it is totally wrong to do here, ok? Thank you.

  3. Well said Jay. I’m of Latin descent and feel sorry for all in-breds that lump us all as being Mexican. Our cultures are far richer and educated than Mr. NRA can ever hope to be. But that’s ok. See, my family is hard working and we gained our citizenship”the right way.” I agree that there are many Latin Americans that take advantage of the system. What people like this man forget, is that the highest abusers of the system are Caucasian and black. People who were born here with every advantage, and all they do is complain about how much this country owes them. Look around you. Whites and blacks are the majority of vagrants asking for money. Latins, you will see them standing in extreme heat and cold selling fruits or flowers, rather than beg. At least they are offering goods in exchange for your money. Yes, there are many driving without a license. But how many other races lose their license for excessive tickets, accidents, or dui’s??? MANY!!! don’t try to blame all problems on Latin Americans. We are more American than you sir. We ARE CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICAN. open a book once in awhile. You will learn a thing or two. Take your finger off the trigger and use it to flip some pages.

  4. well it wasnt that hard to avoid this one. They had signs clearly advertising a checkpoint up ahead and the ability for everyone coming from palmdale to lancaster to turn left on N and hit the freeway. No wonder there were no DUIS

  5. The fact no dui arrests shows how effective social media is for the “party” people to get a text or update to avoid these….

    • yes, they are posted all over facebook and friends text friends who they know are out drinking. In no time, these checkpoint will be obsolete to drunk drivers, and a huge waste of taxpayer dollars.

      • It’s already there, Bro…A big waste of money. Why are deputies on traffic patrol all over the valley then? It’s too hard, apparently, to find someone actually driving drunk, so they funnel em in to get a good look at everyone, even if they haven’t drunk anything but orange juice. It’s just another way of controlling people. Freedom is an illusion….
