4 guns seized, 3 arrested in Lancaster search

LANCASTER  – Drugs and four firearms– one of them stolen – were seized when deputies raided a west Lancaster home early Monday morning.

“We were working on a burglary investigation and my detective got enough information to obtain a search warrant,” said Lt. Cory Kennedy of the Palmdale Sheriff Station. “We hit a house, and during the course of our search, we found at least one stolen gun, three other guns and some narcotics.”

The search warrant was served at a home in the 42000 block of Road Runner Way in Lancaster, Kennedy said. He would not go into detail about what led up to the execution of the warrant, saying he did not want to jeopardize the ongoing investigation.

“We actually hit two places this morning, but this one was the only one that panned out,” Kennedy said.

He said three people were arrested during the search. A 16-year-old boy, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, was arrested for firearm possession. The teen’s mother, 40-year-old Vangie Lee, was arrested on suspicion of possessing narcotics for sale. And 38-year-old Tony Mosqueda was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, Kennedy said.

The operation was handled by Palmdale detectives and the Partners Against Crime (PAC) team.

  1. No victim=no crime, I can’t believe so many people think otherwise & nowhere does it say she was doing dope WITH her child.

  2. First of all I have to agree moms shouldnt be doing drugs with their kids, Period!!! that should go without saying but who are we kidding. It is what it is . Disgusting but true!

    However, the police/ sheriffs/deputies whatever they are to you, took an oath when they became police officers TO OUR CONSTITUTION, to uphold it and on a daily basis they are constantly wiping their ass with it and it makes me sick. I bet on all the houses they go to and seize drugs, money, guns and all the crap they say they seize I bet your lucky if they had one warrant to go into that house, and saying that they had one warrant is actually giving them credit where I know damn well it isnt due, and Im not meaning or including the ones on probation or parole because we all know they havent any rights! But on the ones that are not on probation/parole bet those officers probably lied and said they had a warrant or didnt even say or even bring it up at all and if you bring it up trust and believe they already have that covered when and if you do. KNOW THAT!!! I will bet everything I own there wasnt a legit warrant on any of those houses that you read about in this paper or past papers or future papers for that matter because in the AV thats how they roll. Officers of the Antelope Valley are liars, and are bullys and they have no problem bullying you into signing crap you would never sign if not for them threatening you and telling you things you wouldnt think an officer would say to anyone. They are as corrupt as the day is long.
    To the person who commented “good going deputies” and gave them a nice pat on the back, you dont know the real story your just getting the story from the deputies fowl ass perspective. Theres more sides to the story.
    What if you werent ever able to tell your story and everyone had to listen to your story but told by someone else perspective but it was distorted, changed up, some truth and some untruths wouldnt that make you angry and then the best -part is you get to go to jail and fight your truth from jail and what if you really were in the right its not easy trying to tell your truth in a court or to an officer even an attorney especailly when everyone already thinks your no good because whats on this paper that you had no control over. But the person who did write on this paper took an oath but you read isnt even close to what really happened. Its simple, or is it ? your choices you can fight in jail or take a deal and go home to be on probation or parole for at least 3 years. Theres so much more to all of this people are so unaware of. I need to stop this and just say what I came here to say. Just because a deputy/police/or sheriff says it doesnt make it true. Thats an idiot mistake right there. They lie when they come into your house, they actually plant stuff on your person and I dont care if you believe that or not I KNOW that is true and they come in and wreck your life and your house, they toss your clean house into a big mess, break stuff go through everything thats personal , not personal, anything and everything you own, throw it, rip it, make fun of it, then lie on the police report because they have to say something due to the wreck they just caused you and your life, your future, and then to tell a paper like this one, what big heroes they are for taking more drugs, another gun, and another child from his mother off the streets blah blah blah, and to someone like me, they’re so far from being a hero and its not suppose to be like that but I have lived the unpleasant experience and thats putting it as nicely as I can on how the sheriffs out here really and truly are and I know theres more people out here thats been treated with nothing but disrespect by them, drving by constantly trying to intimidate you on a daily basis and its very unconstitutional and you feel like theres nothing you can do because who they are, not too mention the threats they threaten but I doubt they will go telling that story to any of the papers so just think about that with every tale they tell and as I said, just because he’s a sheriff/police officer and hes saying it, it doesnt make it true If our sheriffs department officers didnt lie cheat and plant stuff they would have numerous lawsuits on their hands, its sad but true and if you dont think they can get away with it, well they can, and they do everyday..dont get me wrong I’m not saying everyone in A.V is on the up and up but you would be surprised that there is alot more scandelous officers than there are criminals on these streets ..there is so much more to share but I’ve said way too much now and I’m not even close to being finished with what I know. But as I said before, it is what it is? Do not think your not anymore special then the next guy and if you are your obviously one of them. But personally, I despise them and as far as respect they have nonthing coming at least not from me and all that they stand for out here in the Antelope Valley is nothing but disrespectful punks worst than any criminal I ever met, they just have a uniform with a gun and a badge and pretend to protect and serve. POWER TRIPPING JERKS… Its all a bunch of BULL. They dont care who you are or the lives they mess with, its disgusting
    Don’t get me wrong I have met some officers that were upstanding officers and have nothing but my respect coming to them, but they were out in Pasdadena, CA the ones in the Antelope Valley need to be behind bars their ownselves, stripped of their badges and knocked down to size. when and if it does I will be laughing my ass off!!

    • Let me ask you this, who will you call when your house is on fire? 911? I bet you would, and guess who will be the first responders there to help you and your family get out safe…The fire dept? Not so much, 9 times out of 10 its the very deputy sheriff’s you despise and are so critical of. Let me guess your angry because a deputy pulled you over and gave you a ticket or towed your vehicle while you were driving on a suspended license for the third time. Its funny how people like you are so quick to blame other people for your own demons and problems, especially those who put their lives and careers on the line everyday (with out batting an eye) because they are passionate about what they do…putting criminal scum in the AV behind bars. Your comments on sheriff deputies planting “stuff” on people has no foundation, where is the proof? I will be the first to admit any bad or crooked cops need to be punished to the full extent of the law, if not worse since they vow to uphold it. But to say there are more crooked cops out there then criminals? Are you kidding me!!! Take a walk down your local park…like say East Side Park, and stay for a couple hours, you’ll see how many scum of the earth come out of the wood work to prey on the innocent, and trust me they aren’t wearing a badge. So the next time you need help when you get robbed at gun point, or worse yet a family member or your child is in danger, please, by all means call 911 because those people wearing a badge that you hate so much will be there to help you no matter what, because they are out there doing the job that you can’t. God bless our men and women out in the AV protecting all walks of life despite how ignorant they can be, you law officers will always have the support of the law abiding citizens of the AV…

The facts are there look at the La Times where do most of the crimes occurred South Los Angeles. Compton being the worst. So you may say that the Sheriffs are racists or are out to get you. Well stop committing crime, robberies, and rapes. And be honest hard working and pay your bills like all of us. And you will be left alone..

    • Glad to see someone can see right and wrong, most people don’t care warrant or not, if they were doing illegal stuff, they deserve what they get, does anyone ever even question these laws to begin with? If the GOV has guns, people should be allowed to have guns. (there are a FEW exceptions of course)
      Felon or not, unless it was a violent felony, one should ratain their right to bear arms.
      Not to mention our Gov is heavy into running drugs, they make it illegal to keep the prices artificially high, I am not saying drugs are good, but I do not believe they in themselves (with the absence of other criminal activity) should be illegal, these laws are such a joke and the GOV are such hypocrites, it would be laughable if the the punishment weren’t so harsh.

      Last but not least, do you think they actually report and turn in everything they seize?
