To: All the LAZY people with stupid comments: The Article says:VOLUNTEERS WANTED.
If YOU are not willing to do it…. It will be better if you keep your mouth SHUT….
You should take your kids and HELP and teach them how to help.
But… Obviously…. these words don’t exist in your vocabulary…
NO wonder the EAST SIDE is the way it is….MORE RESIDENTS COMPLAINING THAN HELPING…

You are foul.

Those who have commented should are exactly the people that need to support this project. They obviously have strong ideas about what should happen and how it should happen, and should help direct the efforts of others who may be less motivated.

No, the part time contract workers need to get off their lazy a$$es and do the jobs they are paid to do. They are a perfect example of people who want the pay check and not do any work. They are no better than the moochers on public assistance. Maybe even worse since they are stealing the money that could be paid to an honest person who would work hard if given the opportunity to have a job. I wonder how much equipment and supplies disappear from the job site. A thief usually steals more than time.

All the more reason for members of the community to take matters into their own hands, correct?

Volunteerism is a fine thing, but we should not have to be doing the work that the municipality charges us to do through our property taxes. If there’s a need for unskilled labor, there’s loads of it available for free… look to all the folks who have court-ordered community service and get them working. BTW any taggers caught should be made to clean up graffiti for a year.
Gemini says
Right on lady! I have thought many times the same thing. Also, why can’t non violent criminals clean up. There is no reason not to get them out and do some good for the community.

So what are those full time parks maintenence guys getting paid to do? I watched one last Thursday drive his cart around chatting up some girls laying out. He then took a good 20 minutes to unconsciously sweeping around one bench. After that efficient hour he went back to the building to have a smoke break with another guy.
Joe says
There are no full time parks maintenance guys anymore they’re all underpaid contract labor.

Just a reminder: Get the city out there too to put up the 4-way STOP signs. That’s more important.
Barry Bigtoe says
Palmdale needs a 4-way stop or signal on this parks primary intersection. It’s hard to believe a park of this size has traffic whizzing by without any controls.
Jay says
It’s the Eastside. The city council only cares about the Westside since 4 of the 5 live there.
