LANCASTER – A 53-year-old Lancaster resident shot at two masked thieves who kicked in his front door and forced their way into his master bedroom Saturday night, authorities said. The suspects were not hit by the gunfire, and they appear to be the same suspects who committed an earlier home invasion robbery, also in Lancaster, according to a press release by the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. Read it below:
Deputies from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station are investigating a Home Invasion Robbery that occurred in the 5700 block of Spice Street, Lancaster.
At about 11:25 p.m. two armed suspects kicked in the front door of the location and forced their way into the master bedroom of the residence. The victim was able to retrieve his firearm and fire two rounds at the suspects causing them to flee. However, it appears neither of the suspects was struck by gunfire.
The suspects fled the location in an unknown direction. Deputies searched the neighborhood but did not locate the suspects.
The suspects are described as two African American males, both wearing white ski masks. The suspects in this incident appear to be the same suspects who committed an earlier home invasion robbery in the 3600 block of West Avenue K-15, Lancaster.
It does not appear that the suspects obtained any property.
Anyone with information on either of these incidents is urged to contact Robbery/Assault Detective Sergeant Eric Roelofson of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station at 661-948-8466. To remain anonymous, contract LA Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit http://lacrimestoppers.org.

We have a right to defend ourselves in our own home, and yes with a gun/rifle…..Breaking and entering is a serious crime. I congratulate the victim for shooting at this low-life burglars.
The local sheriff has told me to arm myself as it is my right to protect my home…

Shotgun.

We must always have the ability defend our families, our homes. I love dogs, however, they are a delay should the perp be armed, enough of a delay to reach for your own defenses. Protect the 2nd Amendment.

Man I wish that Resident would have connected with one of those guys. I would have gladly taken their life breaking in like that.
Hopefully they dont try that again and they are counting the few lucky stars they have.

Rex paris said my dogs where a danger to Lancaster and he hated seeing blacks and Mexicans walking them down his city streets but yet we got people like this running in our houses.. glad I moved.
AV Folk says
Well… I would prefer people not own pitbulls Rex and I agree on that.
Sara says
Bully breeds are miss labeled by people like our mayor. It’s a crime what he has done in Lancaster. Many respectible people own these breeds for pets and they are loving dogs. It is a problem when these dogs fall into the wrong people, but any dog will be vicious when they are mistreated. Rex needs to focus on the gang activity and not a breed of dog they have. Take care of them and this dog will not fall into their hands.
This house would of been protected by this breed from these criminals, they are very protective of their owners.

…big house dogs that will take down an uninvited guest. Security doors (locked) and pay attention to who is outside when you open your garage door both coming and going. A door brace made by Master Lock, put under your doorknob is great too. Makes it almost impossible to kick your door in, even the double doors. Instead of 1 kick, it takes 4 or 5 kicks. Might give you time to get to your gun, the phone or grab a bat.
I hope these two guys get shot.
AV Folk says
These guys were brazen. Hopefully getting shot at makes themthink twice.

Way to go Mr. Resident!!!! When danger is Seconds away, Police are Minutes away….

I don’t know if they are getting worse, or their is just more reported. The actual number of crimes are still decreasing valley-wide.
