Give me a break. Although racism is alive and well we don’t do ourselves justice thinking everything is about color. She is young there were likely a lot of applicants. She just didn’t get the job plain and simple. Thinking its about race will enable her …. Why go to the next job interview? She is still black/Latino. That’s a unhealthy and will get here no where fast …..ps I’m black

My niece attempted to acquire one of these positions last summer. She was granted an interview, and presented herself very professionally but, NO JOB. She wasn’t the right color for them I suspect.

Considering I have seen every color working for Palmdale, could it possibly be that she was just not qualified?
I have gone many an interview, especially when I was younger yet was never hired. Sometimes the person interviewing just doesn’t like who they were interviewing and it has nothing to do with the color of one’s skin.
Did she bring a resume?
Was she dressed professionally?
Did she have prior experience?
Then there is the whole “over qualified” problem as well.
If one goes around assuming something, they never take a good look at any other reasons. This sets one up for failure.
