LANCASTER – All nine Lancaster City Council candidates have confirmed their attendance at an Election Forum this Monday sponsored by the League of Women Voters Antelope Valley, according to organizers.
The Election Forum starts at 6 p.m., March 10 at the Lancaster United Methodist Church, located at 918 West Avenue J in Lancaster.
Scheduled to debate are incumbents Ron Smith and Marvin Crist, and challengers Oscar Mejia, Johnathon Ervin, Jordan Campbell, Sheldon Carter, David Paul, Liza Rodriguez and Michael Rives.
Talk radio host Vivian Komoro is scheduled to moderate the debate. The audience will be able to submit questions on cards to the moderator.
“Here’s a chance to see all the candidates together responding to questions as well as outlining their positions,” stated League of Women Voters Board Member Patricia Shaw.

Our future depends on all of us expecting and receiving a high level of civil discourse in our elections. This forum is one step in that direction.”
Lancaster’s 2014 General Municipal Election takes place Tuesday, April 8, with polling locations opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 8 p.m.
The last day to register to vote in the Lancaster election is March 24.
