The winners of the 2014 Miss AV Latina pageant are as follows:
Miss AV Latina – Victoria Gleason,
Supreme Miss AV Latina – Loraina Calderon,
Junior Miss AV Latina – Alyssa Rivera,
Young Miss AV Latina – Yanely Guillen,
Little Miss AV Latina – Camila Rubio.
The three contestants competing for Tiny Miss AV Latina were so delightful that the judges gave them all crowns. Kaiya Fritsch, Giselle Mejia, and Kennedi Huth are all winners.
Contestants were judged on their grace and stage presence, interviewing skills, impromptu questions, and a speech focusing on their culture and heritage.
The winners will now serve as ambassadors for the Antelope Valley’s Latino community for one year, participating in parades and community events, as well as a service project.
Congratulations to these young ladies and to all the participants of the inaugural Miss AV Latina pageant!

News will alway report something new. The AV has never seen this level of ethic acknowledgement of beauty from the youth. Can’t wait to see how these young ladies will represent their culture to the AV. Congratulations Ladies!!

Where is the coverage for the Miss Palmdale pageant? I haven’t seen any pictures or announcements of the winner of that pageant and the Palmdale pageant was held a couple weeks ago. The Palmdale pageant represents the entire city, not just one race. While its great that these ladies want to support their ethnicity, I think more coverage should have been shown for the ladies who support their entire community. Many of my friends had daughters (of all races and ethnicities) in the Palmdale pageant and its unfair that they were never “congratulated” for their job well done and for winning their pageant.

While this is all nice and the girls were pretty…how come there was no coverage for the recent Miss Palmdale pageant? The AV times never mentioned the pageant was going on and never announced any of the winners. The Miss Palmdale pageant had ladies of many races…is this why it wasn’t covered? Because it was racially directed like this Latina pageant was? The Palmdale pageant represents the community as a whole, not just one ethnicity. To me, that represents more. They aren’t just focused on the color of their skin, but rather the city they represent.

I meant to say *wasnt* racially directed…not was.
