PALMDALE – Family and friends are holding several fundraisers this weekend in Palmdale to help cover the funeral expenses for Jocelyne Plascencia.
Plascencia, 20, passed away from injuries sustained in a traffic crash last month in Fillmore, Calif.
Around 12:51 p.m., Saturday, April 19, Plascencia was driving a Toyota eastbound on Highway 126, approaching Francisco’s fruit stand, when a driver u-turned directly in front of Plascencia’s vehicle, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
Plascencia swerved to the right, lost control of her vehicle, and then careened into a big rig that was parked on the south shoulder of Highway 126, the CHP report states.
The driver who caused the collision fled the scene, while Plascencia sustained major head trauma and was airlifted to Ventura County Medical Center.
She succumbed to her injuries on May 24.

This is truly saddening. So young and beautiful. Her life was only beginning. God bless her, and those she has left behind who will cherish her memory.

I’ve had to slam on brakes for people that suddenly flip U – turns on Sierra Hwy. My husband sees it all the time as well. What is up with this?
Palmdalian settler says
Some drivers are either drunk, on drugs, or simply have no clue on how to drive responsibly. Peace Earthling.

Helping a fellow human being, while it can be inconvenient, has a few humble advantages:
1.It makes you feel better about yourself;
2.It connects you with another person, at least for a moment, if not for life;
3.It improves the life of another, at least a little;
4.It makes the world a better place, one little step at a time;
5.And if that kindness is passed on, it can multiply, and multiply.
Please make effort to support Jocelyne Plascencia family.
