LANCASTER – The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office on Wednesday identified the man shot to death in a car in Lancaster last week as 30-year-old Anthony Isaac Gryskiewicz of Modesto.
Around 11:38 p.m., Thursday, May 29, Gryskiewicz was sitting in a vehicle parked along a curb in the 1700 block of Sierra View Avenue, when two men approached the vehicle on foot and one of the men shot into the vehicle, Sheriff’s officials said.
Gryskiewicz sped away, crashed into a cinder block wall, and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The suspects ran away on foot.
Homicide detectives have released no motive or suspect information, beyond the assailants being two black males.
A man was briefly detained at the scene and then released. Witnesses said the man had been with Gryskiewicz, but was in a nearby home at the time of the shooting. This information was not confirmed by homicide detectives, and there is no additional information available at this time.
