PALMDALE – “Coffee with a Cop” returns this Friday in Palmdale. Officers from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station and local residents will come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee.
The event begins at 9 a.m. Friday, June 6, at the McDonald’s located at 131 East Palmdale Boulevard.
All community members are invited to attend, and the coffee is free!
Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in Palmdale’s neighborhoods.
The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community, and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street.
Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction.
Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are being held across the county, as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.
The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members, one cup of coffee at a time.

Organize a cogent argument and come state your point. A lot of crazy stuff happens our community and you might want the authorities to know you care enough to attend. If no one comes, they may think no one cares. I don’t like the fact that the serial rapist will be just a city away from mine and I would not appreciate a sheriff being rude to me at any time. I will try to attend because I’d like them to know that and to see what concerns others have. Although, having this on a weekday morning seems inappropriate for good attendance. A Saturday morning might have better.

They could have scheduled it anytime they wanted to..they don’t want people going as its a scam….the only people who can go are senior citizens…regular folks are working. Wait until you get pulled over for anything…you won’t like it and will change your tune. And for the record I am 100% pro law enforcement but that doesn’t mean they get a pass. The jails have been a zoo for many many years…these are brutal cops..jaded cops…and of course you can go and feel all touchy feely when they blow smoke up your…..

Trust me this is a scam. If you get pulled over for ANYTHING you will not be dealing with these PR hacks. You will be treated rudely…I happen to be a 60 year old retired white guy…I’d hate to be black. They are out of control cowboys doing what they are told..this is the culture of LASD….go to this event if you want..its all BS

I would like to have the LA Country Sheriffs Dept come out to Lake LA and explain to us how they are going to protect us from this serial rapist that the judge from up north decided to put into our town!!!
