Vegas kidnapping suspect caught in Lancaster

LANCASTER – Lancaster deputies on Wednesday captured a 28-year-old man accused of kidnapping his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son in Las Vegas and fleeing with the child to Lancaster, authorities said.

After a foot chase, Marty Lee Hall was nabbed near the intersection of 12th Street West and Avenue K; and the toddler was returned to his mother unharmed, according to a press release from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station. Read it below:

[Around 1:54 p.m., Wednesday, June 25] Lancaster Deputies responded to a battery in progress call near a home located on the 43700 Block of 12th Street West.

As deputies arrived on scene, Suspect Marty Hall ran from them and into his nearby home.

Deputies coordinated a containment of the home and learned from witnesses that the suspect was involved in a kidnapping out of Las Vegas. Suspect Hall was later captured near the intersection of 12th St. West and Ave K as he attempted to flee on foot.

The investigation is ongoing, but initial information revealed that Suspect Hall was living in Las Vegas with his girlfriend and her 2-year-old son from another relationship.

On June 8th, Suspect Hall took [his girlfriend’s] 2-year-old son and drove [his girlfriend’s] 2005 black Pontiac GTO to Lancaster while she was working. Suspect Hall did not have legal custody of the child nor permission to drive the vehicle across state-lines.

The mother of the child and the child’s grandfather located Suspect Hall at his home in Lancaster. A fight between the suspect and the child’s grandfather began, which initiated the call for service. The child was returned to his mother unharmed.

Suspect Hall was transported to the Lancaster Station Jail for booking. He was charged with kidnapping for ransom, vehicle theft, and evading police officers, with additional charges pending. He also had a no bail warrant out of San Bernardino County for crimes against persons.

    • This doesnt even say all the facts . I didnt do any of this to your brother , HE DID IT TO HIMSELF. And yes he took care of the baby but it wasnt because I was an abscent parent it was because I had to work to keep up the lifestyle your brother wanted . I’m not the reason why hes in jail and none of these charges stuck to him cause I didnt comply with the police so be for you say any thing about 2 sides to a story please get both of them . Talk to Veronica cause shes the reason hes in prison today . No one knows the pain this has caused for my son and I and know one will ever know the truth but me and Marty cause nobody knew what went on in my house .

  3. Thats funny they said it was kidnap when Marty took care of the boy more then the boy mother, not saying nothing bad about her but she know thats not right what she doing to him but everything will come to light

    • He took a child that was not his, without permission (according to the article), across state lines. I’m pretty sure that is the textbook definition of kidnapping.

        • No, you can’t. Unless he has a written letter from her stating that he could take custody of the child and transfer him, he is up the creek.
