PALMDALE – After a highly-successful debut last year, the Iron Circle Law Enforcement MC Ride is back to raise more funds for the families of fallen officers.
The second annual “Iron Circle Law Enforcement MC Ride for the Fallen” takes place this Saturday, July 26. Registration will be held from 8:45 to 10 a.m. at McCoy’s Donuts, located at 3053 Rancho Vista Boulevard in Palmdale.
The cost to participate is $30 per rider and $35 per couple, payable by cash or credit card. Registration also includes a free T-Shirt.
The motorcycle ride, led by Iron Circle AV Chapter President Anthony Minchello, is about 88.2 miles or two hours.
The ride starts at McCoy’s Donuts and goes to the VFW on 16208 Canyon Country; Big Oaks Lodge at 33101 Bouquet Canyon Road; The Rock Inn at 17539 Elizabeth Lake Road; and ends in celebration at Julianni’s Italian Ristorante at 44960 Valley Central Way in Lancaster.
Local band “Rukus” will be performing and Julianni’s will be offering food and drink specials. There also will be an opportunity drawing for gift certificates, t-shirts and other prizes. The grand prize is a three-day, two-night stay in Las Vegas.
“Iron Circle Law Enforcement MC is a family-oriented club that rides to help support law enforcement families who have experienced the loss of their loved ones, our fallen brothers or sisters,” stated Iron Circle AV Chapter President Anthony Minchello. “This is a family event, and the proceeds from the poker run, donations and opportunity drawing will go back to supporting our fallen heroes here in our local community.”
This year’s ride is also dedicated to Jeremiah Horton, one of the organizers of last year’s event.
“As of [July 20, 2014], we lost a very dear friend and fellow brother, Jeremiah ‘Shooter’ Horton, Sergeant-at-Arms for Iron Circle LEMC California, due to unforeseen circumstances,” Minchello stated. “He is and will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and brother, and will be highly missed by everyone he knew. In memory of our brother, a portion of the proceeds will be going to set up a college fund for his children,” Minchello continued.
The second annual “Iron Circle Law Enforcement MC Ride for the Fallen” is sponsored by Red White Blue Discount, The Rock Inn, Julianni’s Italian Ristorante, Crazy Otto’s, Riders Choice, Antelope Valley Harley Davidson, Sub Machine, Monster Fitness, High Desert Broadcasting, Chimera Body Art, AV Sports Club and Mana Restaurant.

Such a senseless loss! I know everyone was quick to blame it on PTSD as the easy answer, however that was not the case. More of a case of trusting your heart to the WRONG person!!! I hope she doesn’t benefit financially from this tragedy. It’s bad enough that she has already replaced him. What a slap in his poor family’s faces!!!

Well said Tony. I can’t believe he’s gone. He was just at the house last Friday for the planning meeting. I know he would be honored and grateful that this ride would be done in his honor and for the support of his girls, the love of his life. I will be there with my daughter, who so loved him and will dearly miss him.
In honor of Jeremiah, a true American hero.
Eric says
Jason, I didn’t know Jeremiah personally, but we both walked the same long road in the Corp. Pains me greatly to see another Brother go, especially when we wore the same rank and served in the same places. Are there any direct fundraisers for the cause, or could I make a donation to Iron Circle on the behalf? Non-rider, or else I’d participate.
suzanne says
Thank you tony. This means so much to me and those girls. They loved to see there daddy ride and was waiting to be old enough to ride with him. He will forever be loved and missed.

I lost my marine son less than a year ago the same way. I was wanting to reach out to sheri and offer my condolences and support. I circulated the Vince’s fundraiser on fb to my law enforcement family and attempted to reach out to sheri on fb and realized that because we’re not fb friends that my message to her would go into a misc message folder in fb.
If someone could pass on to her to check her other message folder, I would greatly appreciate it. No one should go through this alone and no that when they lay him down to rest today, my prayers and thoughts will be with them.

Hope it isn’t rude, my deepest condolences and respect, but how did he die? He was to young?
Anna says
Sara, He suffered PTSD….won’t say it but you get it right? Look up stats on our young vets coming back and see the numbers and the out come…they suffer much more on the inside than we can see. God bless our vets!!!

No need to reach out to her as she has moved on to the next and long forgotten him already! But then again, anyone that knows her would have seen that coming. If you still want to reach out Monica, it should be to his parents and/or siblings. They, the daughters, and the brotherhood he established are the real victims here!

YES!!!! Whoever anonymous is. You hit it right on the nose. It’s because of his “wife” that he did what he did. Such a loss and travesty to all who LOVED him!

Thanks Anthony. We love and miss him!!
