PALMDALE – The Friends of Palmdale City Library are looking for volunteers to join them in their efforts to support the many programs and services offered by the Library.
“If you have the desire to be part of something that is focused on creating opportunities for learning for people of all ages and walks of life, then the Friends of the Library is a great fit for you,” said Library Director Thomas Vose.
Founded in 1977, the Friends of the Palmdale Library is a nonprofit organization staffed by community volunteers and dedicated to raising money for the support of the Palmdale Library.
Its purpose is to kindle community concern for the library as a prime cultural and educational asset; to focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs; and to stimulate gifts of books, desirable collections, endowments and bequests.
“With great support from the community, the ‘Friends’ have donated over $150,000 to the Palmdale City Library,” said Vose. “It is an exciting time in the history of our Library, and a great way to be part of what we’re doing is to partner with the ‘Friends of the Library.’”
