PALMDALE – A 38-year-old man suspected of breaking into multiple local businesses was captured early Friday morning, authorities said.
James Barnes was arrested around 6:15 a.m., after deputies spotted him walking near a 7-Eleven store on Sierra Highway, according to a press release from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station. Read it below:
While on routine patrol, Palmdale deputies arrested James Barnes for a series of commercial burglaries.
Deputies saw Suspect Barnes this morning [Aug. 8] walking in the vicinity of the 7-Eleven store on Sierra Highway and Palmdale Blvd.
Deputies recognized the suspect as a man Palmdale Sheriff’s Station Detectives had been looking for, [for] a number of weeks. Detectives had published photos of the suspect, which were taken from multiple businesses, equipped with video surveillance, that had been burglarized.
Detectives believe Suspect Barnes is responsible for a number of burglaries, including those of the Geminiss Salon, Mahli’s Restaurant, and [Divine] Salon.
Detectives suspect he may be responsible for many more burglaries and the investigation is continuing.
