PALMDALE – The Palmdale Playhouse will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a weekend of free events, art and musical performances Sept. 11 through 13 at the Playhouse, located at 38334 10th St. East in Palmdale.
The festivities begin with “Encore,” a juried art reception on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Featuring fine art by a host of regional artists, the reception will also include tasty appetizers and live musical entertainment. Also featured will be the unveiling of the installation of the ‘Walk on Words’ winning poem, which will be stamped into the walkway near the entrance of the Playhouse.
Then on Friday, Sept. 12, from 6 to 9 pm, the Playhouse will host an Open House with a catered wine reception, live prop and costume displays, guest speakers and Playhouse historical tours.
“Attendees will also enjoy a video presentation of the Playhouse through the years, and receive a free Playhouse ‘yearbook,’” said Recreation Supervisor Annie Pagliaro.
Capping off the weekend’s festivities will be a free concert by the L.A. Cast of Beatlemania on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 8 pm.
Tickets will be available while supplies last and will be available through the Palmdale Playhouse Facebook page.
“Grab your Beatle boots and Nehru jackets and join us for an unforgettable concert when Beatlemania hits the stage!” said Pagliaro. “This 90-minute Magical Mystery Tour promises to treat you to a nostalgic musical experience you will never forget, and the closest thing to a Fab Four concert this side of 1964. To get tickets, simply ‘like’ the Palmdale Playhouse Facebook page and keep checking it for details.”
