AV man gets nearly 21 years for molesting baby, producing porn

LOS ANGELES—An Antelope Valley landscaper  who admitted that he used his camera phone to make videos while he molested a three-month-old relative was sentenced Tuesday afternoon to 250 months in federal prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

Robert Dale Schrader, 34, of Littlerock, was sentenced by United States District Judge Gary A. Feess, who also ordered that Schrader, once released from prison, will be on supervised release for the rest of his life.

At his sentencing hearing, Schrader told the judge there was a connection between looking at online child pornography and his actually molesting children. Schrader described how viewing child pornography created for him a link between children and sexual desire, ultimately leading him to molest children and produce child pornography.

According to court documents, authorities began investigating Schrader early this year after he communicated via e-mail with an undercover law enforcement officer based in England. In those e-mails, Schrader sent sexually explicit images of an infant, and data embedded in those images led authorities to Schrader’s Littlerock home.

On January 29, investigators executed a federal search warrant at Schrader’s residence, where they rescued the baby boy who had been molested. Authorities discovered approximately 200 child pornography images and videos depicting the baby.

During the investigation, authorities uncovered evidence that Schrader also molested at least two other victims, a 12-year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy. Schrader currently faces additional charges that have been filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Schrader “repeatedly sexually abused his three-month-old [relative],” federal prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memorandum filed with the court. “He found online communities of like-minded individuals and bragged to them about his exploits with children, sharing his photographic trophies with them in hopes of obtaining similar child pornography in exchange. In this way, defendant emboldened and encouraged other individuals to also molest children, and also produce child pornography.”

The case against Schrader is the result of an investigation by the Child Exploitation Investigations Group, a task force based in Long Beach and spearheaded by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Other agencies actively involved in the group include the Los Angeles Police Department, the FBI and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).

    • There is no video game that depicts molesting babies and producing child porn.

  4. Yes PeaceintheAV, so right the AV is used for a dumping ground for sex offenders. The cities receive funds for allowing them to be sent to live out hear after they get out of jail. It’s sad that money seems to be more important to those in office than the safety of their residents.

  5. It is not about offender count, it is about child abuse counts. I will try to find more accurate info, but historically for the past several years, the AV area has been the area with the highest child abuse cases (may be by percentage, not sure) including cases like the one above, and various forms of abuse. Similarly, we are the meth production capital as well, which makes sense that drugs and child abuse often go hand in hand. Once I find the info, I will post.

  6. when I was a kid I heard about some one who molested a child. he was sentenced to ten years and castration. why isn’t this a standard procedure? we wouldn’t have to worry about them doing it again because they won’t have the desire to do it. and the cycle would eventually be broken. I know it’s just a dream but doesn’t it make sense?

    • Unfortunately that is not true. Desire is in the head, not the genitals. If someone is castrated they just take the necessary hormones to perform as best they can or they find alternate ways of satisfying themselves.

    • Castration is not an easy fix for these dirtbags. Castration DOES NOT stop the urge to rape or molest. If an offender is castrated they will use a foreign object to offend a victim. Rape, molestation and other sexual crimes are not committed for sexual gratification. These are crimes of power meant to inflict fear on victims The only way to stop these people is to execute them. These people continually offend. It is not a one time thing. Get involved in changing laws don’t just get outraged, take action…This can happen to anyone of us or our children

At a lost for words to even try and start to describe this Satanic trash, however I’m very optimistic that the animals living inside the CDC will administer they’re very own sentence that will undoubtedly trump anything any judge could ever come up with. Of the many crimes committed everyday I never pass judgment on the offenders because I do not know all the circumstances however when a child is involved I absolutely wish the worse hell imaginable to the perpetrator . If this makes me wrong then so F EN be it . If there is any justice in the world I wish and pray the entire rest of this Animals life is never ending torture .

  10. Actually AVBee the AV IS listed as the city with the most child abuse cases. So John isn’t so wrong. I just wish the punishments were stricter and firmer on these sick SOBs.

      • I am employed by an agency that deals with victims of sexual assault. John is right. The AV has more incidences of sex crimes than all of L.A. county. We have become a dumping ground for sex offenders. This needs to change. Elected officials need to be pressured to change our policy of accepting criminals for $$$$$$$

    • I grew up in this area. The Antelope Valley is not a city, but a region that includes Lancaster, Palmdale, and Quartz Hill.
