LANCASTER – More than 200 people attended a Family History Fair recently hosted by family history specialists of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Saturday, October 13.
The free one-day event, held Saturday, Sept. 13, was designed to provide members of the community with timely and helpful information for tracing the genealogy of their own ancestors.
Attendees chose from 25 different instructional presentations on subjects ranging from beginning research to advanced topics. Five classes were offered in Spanish.
Topics ranged from how to use a variety of online genealogy programs, to becoming a power iPad user, to organizing and writing a family history. Other instruction included using Facebook for family history and how to organize digital photos.
The Cultural Hall was filled with family history displays to encourage everyone to explore their ancestor’s stories.
The AV Genealogical Society was there to provide their expertise on the subject.
