LANCASTER – The Support Saddleback Committee is hosting an outdoor concert this Saturday featuring local rock and roll band Keeftowne Blend.
The event kicks off at 5 p.m., September 27, at the Saddleback Butte State Park campground, located at 17071 East Avenue K in Lancaster (East Avenue K and 170th Street East, near Lake Los Angeles). Standard park entry fees are $6 per vehicle or $5 for seniors. There is no extra charge for the concert.
Concert seating is limited; attendees can bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the outdoor performance at the park campfire center. Regular state alcohol laws apply.
After the performance, attendees can look forward to hanging out with the band and enjoying a pleasant evening around the campfire. In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of California State Parks, the first 150 attendees will receive a free bottle of water and ingredients for a S’More, according to organizers.
Keeftowne Blend features John Roberts (vocals), Bill Blair (bass, vocals), Mark Hall (drums, vocals) and Stacey Charles Spiegel (guitar, vocals). The songs they perform are at least 20 years old, with some dating back to the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. Since 2007, they have released several recordings, including ”Happy Trails” (2007), their ”Second EP” (2008), two collections of covers, and most recently, a collection of vintage songs.
Keeftowne Blend is volunteering their performance to contribute positive vibes to the neighboring community of Lake Los Angeles, and bring Antelope Valley residents out to enjoy their beautiful local California State Park.
September 27 also marks the 21st Annual National Public Lands Day, the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort on America’s public lands. The concert is presented by the Support Saddleback Committee, a volunteer group committed to enhancing visitor services offered at Saddleback Butte State Park.
