PALMDALE – Family members are pleading for the public’s help in finding Alexis “Lexie” Evans, a 14-year-old local teen who went missing from the West Palmdale area on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
Lexie was last seen around 12:30 p.m. that day wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and mint green shoes and carrying a dark colored backpack. Her family believes she ran away from home, but she may still be within the Antelope Valley area, for now.
Lexie is considered “critical missing” because she may be a danger to herself and trying to leave the area, possibly out of state, according to her mother, Holly Evans.
“Alexis is a sweet child; she has never done anything like this before, but [she] was exhibiting some signs of serious depression,” Holly Evans stated. “I am concerned because she was talking to various men on the internet, and I don’t know if she may have been lured. Please give this all of the attention you can. Me, as her mother, her family and community love her and will do anything we can to find her.”
Lexie is a white female with brown eyes, about 5’2” tall, and weighing between 155-165 pounds. She has dark brown shoulder length hair, and usually wears it straightened, however it is naturally curly.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Lexie Evans is urged to contact Detective Mike Luther immediately at 661-272-2472, or the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Palmdale Station, at 661-272-2400. The Missing Person Case Number is: 141448226.

That is so very unfortunate, K, that you are a teacher in a place that has as diverse a population as the AV AND that you hold those beliefs about Black people of low socioeconomic status who utilize general relief/”swipe their EBT” as you put it. You are showing your ignorance, and I hope my children do not end up with you as their teacher. I know a multitude of educators, and I am sure that most would not want to acknowledge you as a colleague. Perhaps you need to move to a place that is completely White, so that you may be able to comfortably educate your own….oh….that won’t work either because contrary to popular belief, White people swipe their EBT cards at an exponentially higher rate than Black people do….well, if you do find that ‘perfect White utopia” at least you would have gotten part of what you wanted….but still be ready to wait in line like the rest of us behind people with cash, checks, credit, debit…and yes, your ‘dreaded’ EBT cards.

I bet if she was African American or Hispanic they wouldn’t filed the report before the 24hrs!! Smh

Nice try at implying racism toward the cops @lily. Keep shaking your head, but get some education. Contrary to your belief, there is no 24 hour waiting period for reporting someone missing. You’ve been watching too much TV. In fact, get yourself a scanner and listen to our local police. Between runaway kids, domestic violence, people allegedly threatening to kill themselves, and mental patients whose families think its the sheriff’s job to babysit them, these people waste 80% of our sheriff’s time. Meanwhile, the real taxpayers are forced to sit and wait for their stolen car or burglary report.

Well… You don’t really need to be a genius to know Lily is absolutely right. This rapid action of the LASD was simply because she was NOT a minority. Simple and plain.
How about her parents? They were worry after her disappearance… How about before?

You all need to grow up. I was raised by a police officer and live in the High Desert. I am white and had an African American at my door telling me he has a gun and wants drugs. I am a teacher and a mother and have never done drugs; I dialed 911, guess how long it took them? 7 hours to get there. They found that he was already wanted. Let me guess, that is because I am white, correct? FYI the High Desert is Los Angeles County and if you are white you are cussed at, attacked and the police do NOTHING, but, if you are a minority and whip out your EBT, the police will defend you forever.

Or was she afraid of what might happen at home and decided to save her own life ? I know this could be a real situation because it was a couple of years ago .

The the previous commenter, you don’t know anything about the girl or the family… don’t assume you know what is going on simply because the pictures that are used are selfies.
The girl has been found and is home safe as of this morning.

Sounds like a case of teenaged girl. My mom takes too many selfies now a days! That statement does not give you enough information to justify your assumptions about this family. I’m sure that as long as the world has been spining, unfortunately these things have happened. Let’s just bring Lexi home and leave the preaching of family technology usage recommendations for a less sensitive time. Prayers for her and her family. <3

This looks like another case of too much social media for a very very young person. The pictures look like they are selfies. A search of her computer may reveal her social connections and where she been hanging out with (so called friends). Parental protocol for computers in the house, they should be in an open area & NEVER in the child’s room. You the parent SHALL control the cellphone and computer. There are way too many PREDATORS in the world of social media. Way too much information being posted (by adults & children) and *parents are failing to protect their children; WE are NOT their friend WE are their parents. I truly hope this young girl is safe, but ALL parents need to take the adult position and protect their children from themselves. I am truly sorry for her parents and what she is putting them through but she is a child. Children do not see the danger of their behavior especially IF some predator is feeding them lies. I hope LASD can get her back home & safe.
