LANCASTER –Antelope Valley College Foundation is busy preparing for the 2015-16 Scholarship season. Approximately 275 scholarships will be awarded to students continuing at AVC, transferring to a four-year university, or high school students attending AVC in fall 2015.
Scholarships awarded are expected to total $200,000 with most awards ranging from $500 to $1,500.
Scholarship applications will be available this Saturday, Nov. 1, at www.avc.edu/foundation/scholarships.html. The application deadline is January 20, 2015.
New this year, applications will be completed exclusively online via the NextGen Scholarship Manager. Students can answer questions, complete their personal statement and upload transcript and references. This should be a much simpler process for the students.
Workshops are scheduled for the month of November to explain the application process. Both high school seniors who are planning to attend AVC and current AVC students are encouraged to attend, even if they have attended in a previous year.
