LANCASTER — Antelope Valley Hospital (AVH) presents “Fear the flu, not the flu shot” as part of its Free Community Health Education Lecture Series on Thursday, November 13, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. It will be held at the AVH Community Resource Center, 44151 15th Street West in Lancaster (the corner of Avenue J-5 and 15th Street West).
David Bronstein, MD, physician-in-charge at the Kaiser Permanente Palmdale Medical Office will explore how to decrease your risk of contracting the flu, symptoms of the flu and knowing when to seek medical attention. He will also provide information about this year’s flu vaccine.
“With proper hygiene and flu shots, local residents can significantly reduce their risk of catching the virus,” said Dr. Bronstein. “I want to help people understand how they can protect themselves, recognize the difference between the flu and other illnesses, and know when to go to the doctor.”
While the presentation is free, space is limited.
Anyone interested in reserving a seat should call 661-726-6499 or email to communityrelations@avhospital.org. Leave your name, contact number, and number of guests attending the lecture.
