PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale will host a blood drive Tuesday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Poncitlán Square, (9th St. East between Ave. Q-9 & Ave. Q-10).
All donors will receive a coupon good for a free pint of Baskin-Robbins ice cream.
To sign up for the blood drive, call 661-267-5229 or email Blood Drive Coordinator Kathy Inman at kinman@cityofpalmdale.org.
“Our blood drive will support Providence Health and Services, a non-profit Catholic hospital organization,” Inman said. “They collect blood for their Southern California hospitals, including Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, which has the second largest privately-owned Trauma center in Los Angeles County. Many Antelope Valley residents are brought to Holy Cross in Mission Hills because of the trauma center.”
“Everyone who uses these facilities [is] served regardless of religion or ability to pay,” Inman said. “The donations that are collected go directly to their patients rather than purchasing blood from one of the other companies.”
